Sonawall Creates an Integrated Sound Field

Sonawall operates on a principle similar to the PZM microphone. Sonawall is essentially a pressure zone speaker over much of it’s frequency range. PZM microphones tend to have a smooth frequency response, good off axis consistency and strong output levels. What this means is Sonawall creates an integrated sound field.

Most designs which attempt to become the source of sound draw attention to themselves rather than becoming part of the room. Reflections are delayed sufficiently to diffuse the image. The perfectly centered listener can enjoy this sound but for more listeners or listening positions the performance falls off rapidly “off-axis” of the stereo pair. Sonawall increases the space in which high quality sound is enjoyable.

The ultra-flat response of the Sonapod satellite is integrated with an ideally corner mounted woofer that couples full range sound to the room with amazing fullness and authority. This impression is sustained over a distributed area in the listening room making the Sonawall ideal for home theater. Just swapping a pair of conventional speakers in the L and R front positions of a home theater with Sonawall will enhance the system dramatically.

We also offer the Sonadesk as an amazing center speaker system with freely positionable satellites of it’s own. Finally for those who want everything this desk system may be applied to R and L rear positions by omitting a jumper from the center configuration. We advise starting with the Sonawall in the primary front R and L position in a home theater or just to enjoy stereo.

Installed either in or on the video/listening wall, a well located center image is produced for virtually all listeners. Sonaflat development has created superb drivers in a shallow package that enable in-wall or on-wall installation. Employed in the classic three-channel array, the industry standard, a central image is assured. Locate and install Sonaflat on-wall optimal system easily.

The design thrust in the on-wall system is dynamism and compactness. Although these goals are contradictory a breakthrough shallow rare-earth based woofer now takes center stage. Amazingly powerful and sensitive, this design element combined in a system with a subwoofer will implement a grand scale home theater experience. Crystal clear high frequencies and firm solid midrange emanate from this slender system.

Small but Powerful
A super-powerful six-point-five inch mid-woofer with an inverted neodymium structure and including a large 38mm voice coil enables this performance. This driver at the same time has an ultra-smooth response to 5kHz before crossing over. A mounting depth well under two inches and ninety-two dB sensitivity makes this a top performer in any class. Fiberglass cloth and a rubber surround guarantees a lifetime of stable performance.
A 26mm dome tweeter provides a smooth upper end response and the high matching sensitivity required to interface with this six-point-five inch mid-woofer. Three fine material variations in this tweeter dome are optionally available.

Installation
Locate the on-wall speaker on your walls and in the future optionally move them inside the walls. Operate the system at moderate levels without a subwoofer if desired. The system can be dealer demonstrated on stands without any room alterations to set up and audition the system.

Summary
The sonaflat system concept allows easy transfers from on-wall to in-wall or you may choose a mixture of mounting styles for a completely flexible installation venue. Strong dynamics and crystal clarity characterizes the performance.
